Our Chairman Comments on our Centenary I trust all who attended our first celebration of the Centenary enjoyed yourselves. Although I received the plaudits for organising the event and for which I am very grateful, I want to make it clear that the organisation was a team effort and it is that which led to its success. It is my privilege to be Chairman of the Centenary committee and I wish to thank all members for their support, advice and help over the past
couple of years but particularly, leading up to the 3rd January. Additionally, I would like to thank Mr. Andy Carson of Alfred McAlpine Slate Co, Ltd. of Penrhyn Quarry, Bethesda for the most generous donation of the fine slate plinth upon which the stainless steel plaque depicting the Centenary sits. What a statement the slate makes. A fitting tribute to those pioneers who, 100 years ago had the foresight and determination to found the club together with the members far too many to mention, past and present who have brought the club to where it is today. We owe them a great deal of gratitude.
